new ears for old stories."
(Chenjerai Hove, writer) |
In the Shona language, the word NGANO
means fairy tale. In Zimbabwe, fairy tales and stories are
traditionally used to convey knowledge, values and emotional
experiences. The contemporary stone sculptures embody these
stories and show us views from another culture. The African
artists express in their work the diverse facets of life. They
talk with a remarkable variety of form and a fascinating power
of expression about elementary human needs and emotions.
NGANO invites you to a voyage of
discovery, where cultures
join together for History, Customs, and Language. |
